Night City runs on eurodollars (€$, "eddies"). Everything on this page is in-game money: nothing in the city is ever bought with real money.
Earning
- Jobs pay a wage every 10 minutes you are on duty and actually working. Idle time earns nothing.
- The city withholds 12% income tax on every wage.
- Citizens without a job get a welfare payment of 40 €$ every 10 minutes while active. A job pays far more: see Jobs.
- You start your life in the city with 500 €$.
Your bank account
- Wages, refunds and transfers land in your bank account. Cash is what you carry, and cash can be stolen.
- ATMs deposit, withdraw, wire money and print statements. The first ATM is in Kabuki Market, next to the market centre.
- Your bank balance is also shown in your citizen file once you have linked your account.
Bills
Bills arrive once per city week (84 real hours) and are paid from your bank account.

An unpaid bill becomes debt, retried at the next due date and when you log in. Debt never passes 6,000 €$. After two unpaid bills with the same company you start to feel it: no outgoing calls, or "registration lapsed" on a police check. Pay it off and the service is back.
