Infraction. A ticket. No arrest. Pay it or contest it in court.
Misdemeanour. A fine, a short stay in a cell or community service. Cite and release, or book at NCPD HQ.
Felony. Arrest and booking. Only a judge may take the plea or try the case.
Capital felony. No bail. Tried before a judge; a sentence of death needs the judge's verdict and a staff co-sign, and waits out the appeal window.
Fines in eddies (€$), cell time in real minutes in the NCPD cell (at most 120 in all), community service in clean-up tasks. Fines add up across charges; cell time runs concurrently (the longest charge) unless the judge orders it consecutive, up to the 120-minute cell limit. Every 6 points of convictions in the last 30 days raises the bottom of the fine and cell bands by 15% (never above the top). Time already spent in custody on the case comes off the cell time.
